Body-Mind-Spirit

The concept of three is ubiquitous. The idea of the trinity is found in various religions and spiritual practices.

In the Japanese shinto tradition the tomoe symbol can be interpreted in many ways – representing the life cycle, or yin, yang and the space in between, linking the two opposites.

The Celtic triquetra knot has a variety of interpretations such as land-sea-sky and the cycle of life. This symbol is also used to depict the Holy Trinity in Christianity.

The sacred geometric symbol of the Merkaba in Hebrew means light, body and spirit and tying them together represents balance.

In Ayurveda, one interpretation of the concept of three is balancing body, mind and spirit. This has deeply resonated with me and I have therefore selected it as a framework in which to work.

In the western world paradigm we tend to think of body, mind and spirit as separate.

If you have a physical ailment, you see a doctor or physician. For mental health issues, you might be referred to a counsellor, a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Spirit rarely comes into play. It is seen as separate, with no real connection to your body or health.

To nourish your spirit you are invited to go to church or seek out spiritual practices or esoteric teachings. Spiritual practices often deliberately seek to transcend the body, which could cause a disconnect between body and spirit. However, it is within the spiritual sphere where you may encounter the concept of spontaneous healing or healing by prayer, in the western world often considered as “out-there” or unscientific.

Body-mind-spirit are interconnected and an imbalance in one can cause an imbalance in the other. According to Ayurvedic philosophy, by starting in a small way to balance one aspect, you can start to balance all aspects, in a holistic way. You can return to your centre and your inner knowing, learning to trust yourself and your body signals, rather than external ideas or concepts of what should be right for you. This is very different from following the latest dietary fad or influencer idea of healthy living.

There is no one-size-fits-all.

Balancing YOU

You know you better than anyone else.

Spirit

I work with a variety of tools that I have studied over years to help you find your inner balance.

The Way I Work

I firmly believe that each person is responsible for their own healing. No outside force can heal you, only YOU can. Sometimes we all need a little help along the way though, and that is what I am here to provide. My approach is loosely mapped to body, mind, spirit, however, these concepts overlap and interweave to form the incredible beings that we are. Therefore I use intuition as a guide to the best approach for you at a given time.
